Spectacle Lenses
Almost all vision problems can be corrected with spectacles.  We manufacture on the premises and can offer a fast prescription service and respond instantly in emergencies.  Having our own laboratory (established in 1922) ensures that we can achieve a completely accurate result.  Wherever possible, we use NIKON spectacle lenses, considered the finest ophthalmic prescription lenses available. All our lenses feature UV protective filtering

Prescription  lenses...

• Single vision lenses correct one range of sight either distance, mid, or near range.  They are typically used for reading glasses.

• Bifocal lenses offer correction for near vision in the lower half of the lenses and distance vision in the top half of the lenses.

• Varifocal lenses are similar in principle to bifocals but with a gradual change between the reading lens at the bottom and the distance lens at the top, providing mid-range sight as well.  With no visible dividing line your lenses are seamless.

Technological Advances...
Development in lens technology and new materials means that lenses are lighter and thinner than ever, making them more attractive and comfortable to wear.  

A 'super multi' anti-reflection coating has been developed which cuts out glare, helping those who drive at night or work at computers.  Most lenses can now be ordered in a wide range of tints or with photocromic lenses which automatically darken in bright light.
