As we mentioned in our last blog post, at the end of September, Martyn and Carl headed off to Paris for the internationally renowned SILMO eyewear show. Here, the world’s biggest and best eyewear designers gather together under one, huge roof to showcase their newest styles. Sheinman Opticians use these shows as a way to gauge what’s happening in eyewear trends and where the latest innovations are, in order to bring them right back here to Northampton. The guys caught up with some of our amazing exsisting partners, like Lindberg, Garrett Leight and Blake Kuwahara, and also found some exciting new styles from Face a Face, Rezin and some excellent new coloured vinyl pieces from NVSBLE at Vinylize. You can see a taster of these in our picture gallery.
We were also lucky enough to be invited to join the Northamptonshire Association for the Blind at the PTS Academy Stadium at Sixfields for their Visual Impairment awareness day. Some of the Northampton Town team joined a group of visually impaired people for a penalty shoot out where the Cobblers players wore special glasses which simulated different levels of visual impairment. The glasses demonstrated everything from cataracts, through central and peripheral field of vision loss, to total blindness and was a great (pardon the pun) eye-opener for all in attendance!
