Yuniku Eyewear is an incredible partnership between Hoya Vision Care, Materialise 3D printing and the Hoet frame design studio in Belgium. Together they have pioneered the world’s first vision centric 3D printed eyewear – spectacles with your prescription at their very heart.
Using 3D scanning technology to create an accurate map of your facial measurements, your prescription is considered to create the optimum orientation for your lenses. Then, once you have chosen the style of frame you like best from Hoet’s stunning designs, choose the finish you want and you are on the way to owning your own completely unique set of spectacles. As no two faces are the same – neither are any two pairs of Yuniku spectacles!
First to try out this amazing new technology was practice owner, John Sheinman. He chose a very different shape from his previous pair in the Khaki colour, the software then resized and designed the frame in the perfect position for his prescription.

When asked why Sheinman was chosen to be the first practice in the UK to offer this range, Head of Business Development at Hoya Lens UK John Heritage had this to say:

Mr Heritage then came back to the practice to deliver and fit the finished pair for John Sheinman. The frame felt very light to wear and instantly comfortable due to the precise design generated by the 3D imaging system.
