Here at Sheinman Opticians, we aim to provide a welcoming and open environment for our customers to enjoy, whatever their age. Practice owner, John Sheinman says “It is important to make young people aware that their vision, eyecare and fashion are as important as an adult’s – they should have fun choosing their eyewear”.
As the largest optical practice in Northamptonshire we want to continue to lead the field in children’s eyecare. With this in mind, we have recently remodelled our children’s eyewear area under the name “Young Vision”. Using an outdoors theme, we now have a bright, open plan area with grass, butterflies and interactive tablets to keep our young customers engaged while they are here with us. We also have a greatly expanded range of kids and teen frames including Rayban and Lacoste junior and specialist paediatric frames from Tomato Glasses.
To officially open our Young Vision area, we held a launch party on Friday 17th February. We welcomed our junior customers and their parents with visits from Northampton Town players Mark Richards, Brendan Moloney, David Cornell and mascot Clarence the Dragon who brought along The League Two Champions’ trophy! Northampton Saints mascot Bernie the Dog popped in too, both he and Clarence had a sight test with Mr Sheinman himself – proving eyecare really is important – whoever you are! Lots of fun was had with some great photo opportunities as you can see below.
Did you know that children can have eye tests funded by the NHS every year from when they are babies until they are 19? Early diagnosis is key for many eye conditions like Amblyopia (lazy eye) so we are always happy to see children at any age. Why not book your young ones in for a test here, and see for yourself?
